Thank you for donating or considering a donation to Amref Health Africa! Below, you will find frequently asked questions to help you if you have any questions or concerns about your gift. If you don’t see your answer here, feel free to click the button below to email us!

Pamoja is Swahili for ‘together,’ and when we unite for a common cause, that is when we are strongest! Recurring donations help us secure long-term funding, plan for the future, and act quickly in case an emergency occurs that requires immediate help. By giving monthly, quarterly, or annually, you help us create a reliable source of income so we can give more to our programs and focus less on fundraising. We become a unit, sharing program updates and impact stories so you can see the direct impact of your dollar. Unity is power, umoja ni nguvu, and together, we can make a bigger impact on healthcare across Africa!

If we met you in person, our ambassadors signed you up for a recurring giving plan linked directly to our donor database to make the giving process as secure as possible for you. If you email us at [email protected] or give us a call at 212-768-2440, we can help you make any adjustments you need to your giving plan. If you never received any email communications after signing up, it’s possible your email was entered incorrectly. If you gave online through our website, you can log into our donation platform Classy with your Classy account and see your dashboard. https://www.classy.org/sso Here, you will see your donation history and recurring giving plan you’ve made for Amref (and any other nonprofit you give to that also uses Classy). Check the email account you used to make your recurring gift for an email from Classy. If you don’t see one and it’s not in your spam folder, you can visit https://www.classy.org/sso/password and click on “Forgot Password.” If you’ve never received any email communications from Classy but set up your account online, it’s possible your email was entered incorrectly. Reach out to us directly at [email protected] or 212-768-2440, and we can work with you and Classy to fix your account.

It’s not just you, we promise 😊 Our phone number always goes to voicemail. When you call, please leave a voicemail with your name, number, and need, and we will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours. We are available Monday – Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST.

If you met one of our ambassadors in your area and signed up after talking with someone, give us a call at 212-768-2440 or email [email protected], and we can change your payment options or payment method for you. Since your donation was made directly into our donor database, unfortunately, you’re not able to make these changes on your own. But reach out to us. We’re here to help you!

If you donated online through our website, you can make changes directly on our donation platform, Classy. Go to https://www.classy.org/sso and sign into your account. Scroll to Recurring Donation, select Edit Donation, and then select Update Payment. After you’ve updated or switched your card information, be sure to choose Save Payment. You can also switch from credit card payments to bank transfers. Classy uses Plaid to connect your account to your financial accounts. If you met one of our ambassadors in your area and signed up after talking with someone, it will be on the same day each month. For example, if you gave on October 12th, the next gift will be processed on November 12th, then December 12th, etc. If you want to change your processing date, give us a call at 212-768-2440 or email [email protected]!

If you donated online through our website,  the next processing date will be one month, three months, six months, or one year from the exact date you signed up, depending on the donation frequency you selected. You can change your next processing date by going to https://www.classy.org/sso and signing into your account. Scroll down to Recurring Donation and select Edit Donation. Here, you can change the Next Processing Date. Click on the calendar icon next to the date, select a new processing date from the options given, and click Save Changes. You can also reach out to us directly at [email protected] or 212-768-2440, and we can make the adjustments for you!

If you met one of our ambassadors in your area and signed up after talking with someone, give us a call at 212-768-2440 or email [email protected], and we can update your card information for you! Since your donation was made directly into our donor database, unfortunately, you’re not able to make these changes on your own. But reach out to us. If you donated online through our website, you can make changes directly on our donation platform, Classy. Go to https://www.classy.org/sso and sign into your account. Scroll down to Recurring Donation and select Edit Donation. Here, you can change the Frequency to weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and yearly giving options and click Save Changes. If you donated online through our website, you can make changes directly on our donation platform, Classy. Go to https://www.classy.org/sso and sign into your account. Scroll down to Recurring Donation and select Edit Donation. Here, you can change the donation amount and click Save Changes. Yes! If you met one of our ambassadors and signed up after speaking with someone, we will reach out by phone and email if your most recent recurring payment has failed. If you have any concerns about the status of your recurring donation, you can also reach out to us at [email protected] or 212-768-2440.

If you gave online through our website,  you’ll receive an email informing you that your recurring donation has failed. This happens for a few reasons: your card expired, you updated your address, or your card has too many other temporary holds for other purchases. You can log into your account here: https://www.classy.org/sso. Scroll to Recurring Donation, select Edit Donation, and then select Update Payment. After you’ve updated your card information, be sure to select Save Payment.

Yes! We have many supporters who give by check. Please make your check payable to Amref Health Africa and indicate in the memo line if you’re giving towards a particular campaign or in honor of someone. Checks can be mailed to this address:

We understand that finances change and life happens. You can cancel your recurring donation anytime – we are grateful for your support in our mission to bring lasting health change throughout Africa.

Please consider these five things before you cancel.

Our tax receipt process starts after December 31st and will be sent to the email address associated with your account by February. If you no longer have access to the email you signed up with or would like to receive your tax information at a different email account or by mail, reach out to us directly at [email protected] or 212-768-2440 so we can get that to you in time for tax preparation season.
