What are the Sustainable Development Goals?

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of goals that serve as a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. The SDGs were adopted by all United Nations Member states in 2015. They are a call to action by all countries – both developing and developed – to partner together to achieve peace and prosperity for people and the planet.

The SDGs address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice. The 17 Goals are all interconnected, and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve them all by 2030.
