TCS NYC Marathon

Who We Are
Amref Health Africa is an African-led organization transforming African health from within Africa. We build up health systems and train local health workers to respond to the continent’s most critical health challenges: maternal and child health, infectious and non-communicable diseases, water and sanitation, and the lack of access to surgical and clinical services.
Run the TCS New York City Marathon
Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 TCS NYC Marathon has been cancelled. However, you can still support our runners who will be running in the 2021 TCS NYC Marathon. These runners will be raising funds to help support our work in bringing essential maternal care to women living in under-served communities in Africa.
As COVID-19 spreads through the continent and countries go into lockdown, we are seeing more women turning to more traditional birth methods, such as delivering at home or with a village healer, putting themselves and their infants at an increased risk to deadly complications.
When you support Team Amref, you’ll ensure that women feel safe and supported seeking care at a health facility, no matter where they live. Team Amref will help us train health workers at all levels to give care to women, even in the most remote communities, and that health facilities are well equipped with sanitizers, soap, and other essential equipment.
