Who We Are
Amref Health Africa is an African-led organization transforming African health from within Africa. We build up health systems and train local health workers to respond to the continent’s most critical health challenges: maternal and child health, infectious and non-communicable diseases, water and sanitation, and the lack of access to surgical and clinical services.

When you support Team Amref, you’ll help us train health workers to provide lifesaving prenatal, delivery, and postnatal services, ensure newborns have access to vaccines and proper nutrition, provide desperately needed beds and medical kits for small health clinics, and more!

Our Team’s Impact
In 2023, Team Amref raised over $41,000! Since 2015, Team Amref has collectively raised over $305,000, which helped us bring quality, life-saving maternal care to women in places like Iten, Kenya, the home of TCS NYC Marathon champions like Mary Keitany and Wilson Kipsang, and Maridi, South Sudan. Requirements:
All runners must fundraise a minimum of $3,500 by October 29, 2024. Failure to meet the fundraising minimum by the deadline can result in the cancellation of participation in the TCS NYC Marathon.
Runners are responsible for their Race Registration Fees:
- $255 for NYRR members
- $315 for non-members
Important Dates:
- September 10, 2024: Last day to cancel without penalty
- October 29, 2024: Fundraising minimum of $3,500 due
- November 3, 2024: The TCS New York City Marathon
